I am a paediatric rheumatologist at Armand Trousseau Hospital, Assistance-Publique des Hôpitaux de Paris (AP-HP), where I specialise in treating paediatric autoimmune and autoinflammatory diseases. My research centres on the clinical and molecular characterisation of type I interferonopathies — a group of genetic disorders driven by the constitutive activation of the type I interferon pathway — with a particular focus on neuroinflammation.
As a physician-scientist, I aim to bridge the gap between fundamental genetic discoveries and clinical practice to improve the diagnosis, prognosis and management of these rare and severe conditions. I am particularly interested in juvenile neuropsychiatric systemic lupus erythematosus, some forms of which may fall within the spectrum of type I interferonopathies.
Scientific project
My current research team, centred on the HELIOS project (Highlighting Endogenous Links of IFN I Pathway in Outcomes of Juvenile Neuropsychiatric SLE), is investigating the mechanisms underlying cerebral inflammation and the neuropsychiatric manifestations of juvenile systemic lupus. Our aims are to identify novel genetic causes of selected cases, to better understand clinical variability and incomplete penetrance, and to explore potential biomarkers and future targeted therapies. Ultimately, we aim to advance precision medicine for rare interferonopathies while generating insights that may also benefit more common autoimmune or autoinflammatory diseases.
